There has been a great deal of talk over the past few weeks about "Assault Weapons", and"Military Grade Weapons". It has become apparent to me, that few people really understand what is, and what is NOT a Military Grade Weapon. So for the education of the public at large, and just because I can, I have compiled some YouTube videos of some actual Military Grade Weapons, and one that everybody seems to think is a Military Grade Weapon, even though it is not. Enjoy.
I am not going to talk a great deal about most of these weapons, for the most part, I will them speak for themselves.
First, the m-249, 650-1200 rounds per minute:
Clearly a Military Grade Weapon.
Next the M-240, similar to the M-249, but it fires a larger round, at a slightly lower rate.
This too is undeniably a Military Grade Weapon.
We move on now to the M-134 gatling cannon. 3000 rounds per minute. This one you just have to see to believe.
This machine is oozing Military Grade from every pore, and all 6 barrels.
How about this one, the GUA-8, 4200rpm:
That is a 30mm round folks. not .30 caliber, but 30mm. For those that dont know, the US Army standard grenade launcher round is 44mm. The barrel alone is 6 meters long. This is beyond Military Grade. This is some "whole nother level stuff". Too much? Maybe I should ease up a bit.
How about the GUA-21?
I think we can all agree that this is very much Military Grade.
No list of Military Grade Weapons would be complete without this little jewel. It doesn't even have a number, it is simply called Metal Storm. And what an apt name it is.... It fires a 40mm GRENADE round and the mind boggling rate of 250,000 rounds per minute. That is not a typo folks, we are talking One Quarter of a Million Grenades every minute. and as if that was not insane enough, it can fire at a physics defying rate of 1,000,000 rpm, with a 9mm pistol round. Yes you read that right, One Million rounds every 60 seconds. Just watch.
Were you paying attention in that one? That last burst, that sounded a lot like one rifle shot, was 180 rounds. Instantly. Poof. That fast. To put that into perspective, that was six 30 round magazines. (Or for you "limit high capacity magazine folks", that was 18 of your 10 round mags.) Instantaneously. Bang, 180 rounds. This may go past Military Grade and into the realm of Science Fiction Alien Technology.
And last, but most definitely least, The All Mighty, The All Powerful, The Awe Inspiring, ummm, Semi-Automatic 45 round per minute AR-15?
Really? You want to call THAT a Military Grade Weapon?
Can you understand now why the AR-15 is the only one of these weapons that is:
A: Legal to buy for the average citizen, and
B: Most certainly NOT a Military Grade Weapon?
